As Coronavirus continued to spread in March 2020, a screenshot of a (fake) World Health Organization tweet started circulating, claiming that in the absence of hand sanitizer a mixture of aloe vera and vodka could be used. This is false – according to the CDC “If soap and water are not readily available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol” . Tito’s Vodka, like many others, contains 40% alcohol. Tito’s Vodka has tweeted reiterating this point.

Verdict: False
