Minneapolis-based Allina Health System is a not-for-profit health care system serving people living in Minnesota, western Wisconsin and eastern North Dakota and South Dakota. It was formed in July 1994 as a result of a merger between Medica and HealthSpan Health Systems Corporation.
In addition to its hospitals, Allina owns or manages seven nursing home facilities and a 45-unit senior housing complex in Cambridge, MN. Allinas group practices--the Allina Medical Group --includes 54 clinic locations and a staff of 560 providers, most of whom are primary care physicians.
